Student Progression Through an Internship: 
                A Developmental Model

A model by Sweitzer & King (2019) describes stages a student experiences during the course of an internship.  Student experiences are diverse, but there seems to be a predictable order to the internship development.   The rate of progress through the stages depends on multiple factors.  Each stage is unique and has its own obstacles and opportunities for students to address.
